Ahwaz Project FAQ

Ahwaz1. What kinds of training do have you now?
The projects stopped having classes from the 15 of Sharivar. However, the football program is still on from the month of Mehr. Unfortunately we couldn't open mahd-e-koodak (daycare) because of hot weather and lack of a cooling system.

2. What have been the local people's reactions for this project so far?
They became very happy as soon as they believed that it really was for their children. They are still waiting for the new classes for:

  • Daycare Center
  • Computer classes
  • English language classes
  • Sport activities for girls

Our biggest challenge is getting a place for classroom. Since it is getting cold, people are migrating back in hot regions, such as Ahvaz. Our representative couldn't find a room or home for their activities.

3. How many children are covered so far by the Ahwaz 2 project?
  • Football classes for 36 children (3 days/week) - all boys ages 12 to 17 (Instructor: Mohammad)
  • Football classes for 22 children (3 days/week) - all boys ages 12 to 17 (Instructor: Ali)
  • Music classes with 18 students comprised of 5 girls and 13 boys (Instructor: Hossin-zadeh)
  • Flower arrangement classes for 8 to 17 girls (Instructor: Hamideh)
  • Extra curriculum classes for 7 boys and 5 girls (Instructor: Miss Deghagheleh)
  • Computer classes (Basic, MS Windows, and MS Word) for 18 children comprising of 5 girls and 13 boys (AWZ)
  • Table tennis and badminton classes for girls (no instructors are available)
